native bells on some moonlit shore Download | Native Bells: On Summer Acts I & II

It’s officially summer, so get ready for the onslaught of airy chillwave and crystalline indie pop! We tend to think of “summery music” in terms of well-worn clichés about traversing sandy beaches and bathing in the escapist freedom the summer months provide. It’s all sans-serif and polaroids and Coney Island in an attempt to evoke an unfussy nostalgia for all those awesome and life-affirming things we did when school got out way back when. New York’s Native Bells understand this well, and through their On Summer double release they aim to accessorize our eagerness to feel those things again without all the corny bullshit and tired chillwave.

On Summer, Act I: Honey, Noon, and the Sea and On Summer, Act II: On Some Moonlit Shore — a combined twenty songs hitting a ridiculous array of styles and influences (Beach Boys to The Specials to Neutral Milk Hotel) are available at Native Bells’ bandcamp in pay-what-you-want fashion.
