LA indie rockers (and surprise synth enthusiasts) HANDS, who also happen to be Small Plates alumns, have recently signed with Kill Rock Stars to put out their debut LP Synesthesia. We’ve loved these guys for a while now, enough to press their beautiful debut Massive Context EP to vinyl last year, and really can’t wait to see them blow up even more in 2013. Here’s the album’s lead single “Trouble” »
With their rock-heavy, emotive EP in the rear view mirror, Hands have exploited their new found airy freedom on “Trouble”, employing scuzzy bass synths and euphoric vocal harmonies, coloring their new sonic world with a skies-the-limit mentality. “Trouble” aims for the stratosphere, or at the very least for the sweaty air of a rooftop dance club. It’s a good look for them, and I’m always happy to see a band with such innate talent push their envelope even further into new territory. Here’s to their 2013.
Synesthesia is out April 30th. Preorder the album here »
For the vinyl purists among you, Hands’ debut EP is still available via Small Plates »
