This is the second Brazilian band this year I’ve found that’s super enjoyable to listen to. And if you’re counting out at home, that’s two more than I’ve found in the past few years! First it was dark pop/rock outfit Some Community and now it’s São Paulo based Turtle Giant turning my head. Lead single “We Were Kids” has an addictive combination of surf rock, candy-coated rhythm guitar, and accesible vocals that remind me of The Features. Dig in and dive in:
Turtle Giant’s debut EP All Hidden Places drops 9/18 – more tunes here.

I am really digging this song! The fast pace drums make me want to jump up and go crazy. When it comes to surfer rock these guys are one of the best I’ve heard. The energy they give off in this song is intoxicating. I would never have expected this kind of sound from a band from Brazil. I cannot wait to hear All Hidden Places in September.
Sounds good… reminds me of tapes n’ tapes.
