MP3 Premiere | new ARMS: “Summer Skills (Bump in the Night)

We’ve been a fan of ARMS for some time, even before singer/songwriter Todd Goldstein started making (short lived, sadly) waves with NYC outfit Harlem Shakes. While the latter is now just a dance move that I cannot seem to master, the former is a thriving Brooklyn-based outfit that seems to morph and grow with each release. Goldstein’s soothing vocals and thoughtful lyricism remain constants, but new track “Summer Skills (Bump in the Night Version)” enters a space of melodic bass lines and percussion that takes me back to the glory days of Talking Heads. Check out the track below and (if you’re my Brooklyn neighbor) be sure to hit up their July 20th show with Brazos and Port St. Willow at Union Pool. I’ll meet you at the taco truck.

Wow, talk about a gem of a show! And I had absolutely no idea that ARMS and Harlem Shakes were related.
