[Listen] new Secret Mountains: “Make Love Stay”

I’ve been on these Baltimore babies for quite some time, completely riveted by their retro 1970s vibe meets clairvoyant shoegaze rock. Secret Mountains are hard at work on their next release and just laid down a brand new track via a Rubber Tracks session and it’s a burner.

“Make Love Stay” has a personality all its own, rather, personalities. It slowly builds off the haunting vocals of Kelly Laughlin and distorted guitars, only to echo and tumble it’s way into a bass driven explosion. Often times people take drummers for granted, but an excellent drummer adds an irreplacable element to an outfit and, fortunately for Secret Mountains, they’ve got a drummer that destroys the final few minutes of this track. Dig into some of their other tracks and you’ll get as excited as me about what this group is capable of come debut LP day.
