IGIF Presents: The Best Songs of 2011

Keeping it short and sweet: This year we tended to listen to a lot more singles than albums, as constantly scavenging for new music tends to produce bands who haven’t hit the EP or LP mark just yet. The following 50 songs were real standouts for us in a year full of great music, so without further ado: IGIF’s Songs of 2011:

young man #1? does over-borrowing sounds from other artists really make for the best song of the year?

emulating bands is understandable to help discover new sounds, but young man doesn’t have a new sound……even the originals sound like covers.

I’ve been pouring over best of lists from all over. Yours is easily one of the best I’ve come across. Thanks so much!

And then I came across your #1 song. Damn. I’ve heard hundreds of 2011 songs recently and that is just brilliant.
