Futuremusic is a collaboration with ex.fm in celebration of their absolutely spectacular, newly released exfm v3.0. In many respects it’s the music of the future celebrating the future of music. You may have noticed a redesigned music player and listening experience on IGIF — that’s exfm’s new site player, so we’re just gonna go ahead an celebrate that too.
Futuremusic isn’t The Jetsons. It’s not the January 1953 edition of Popular Mechanics. It’s not the damn World’s Fair… It’s simply a reminder that music is ever malleable and ever changing. The best music puts a new spin on an old idea — rock n’ roll, grunge, trip-hop, dubstep — and the musicians featured here are amongst a massive new generation of producers, tinkerers, artists, designers, and consumers dedicated to using new technologies and new ideas to foster the growth and expansion of music.
Listen to the mix exclusively at exfm. Alternatively you can download that futurebitch here knowing you have the privilege of uploading it to iTunes or listening to it on your iPod. Celebrate exfm and mourn Steve Jobs at the same time.
