Music Alliance Pact :: September 2011

maplogotn Music Alliance Pact :: September 2011For those of you who don’t know about MAP, it’s a collection of music blogs from around the world who band together once a month to shed light on up-and-comers from their home countries. It’s sort of like the WTO without the human rights violations.

After the jump you’ll find music from 35 nations spanning the globe. This September we decided to highlight some more future music from Chicago courtesy of THE-DRUM. Check out the ridiculously heady cut “Omar” below.

THE-DRUMOmar
Much like their Chicago brethren Supreme Cuts and How To Dress Well, THE-DRUM are catalysts for precognitive future-music, hybridizing molasses-slow R&B vocals against shockwaves of percussion and echoing synth melodies. The results are as vibrant and unique as they are compelling, and Omar, released a little over two weeks ago, is perhaps their best experiment yet.
