I’ve been sitting on this track for awhile, ever since a friend o’ mine uploaded it to a Turntable.fm room and captivated my earballs. Houttaker is one part of young Chicago band Distractions (read more) and also part of a stellar new Chicago themed cassette coming out via twosyllable records. “Judy, Judy” is a slow burner, full of rhythmic beats and undecided guitar licks that would be perfect for a drive down Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive, straddling the barrier between urban confines and beachfront escape.
Be sure to snag the 18-song cassette (ltd. 200 copies), including a new jam from Small Plates’ own Campfires.

Think that I may have fallen in love with this from the first note. I don’t know if you watch Weeds – but the very very beginning sounded like it could have been on the show! Great post and love your site!
