If you don’t frequent Prefix Mag and aren’t one for the Twitterverse, you probably missed some exciting news last week featuring one of IGIF’s favorite artists and the next release on our record label Small Plates. Idiot Glee, the solo work of Kentuckian James Friley, first graced my ears (and the internet thereafter) in demo form way back in 2009. Ever since then, Friley has honed his retro pop sound to perfection and is preparing to release his debut LP this summer via Moshi Moshi.
With great excitement and pleasure, I present the third release from Small Plates Records: Idiot Glee’s new single “Don’t Go Out Tonight” with two exclusive b-sides, a live cut of “Don’t Drink The Water (feat. Women)” and a stellar cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “That’s All For Everyone”. The beautiful artwork above, that actually inspired the Idiot Glee song itself, was done by sensational Lexington, KY artist R. Clint Colburn (check out his other artwork).
