Is SXSW really worth it [Video] Is it really worth going to SXSW?

A few friends/colleagues of IGIF’s, Matt and Phil from Break Thru Radio, made their annual trek to SXSW this year with a camera in tow. The plan was to document their entire festival experience, from the hours they spent watching bands to the sunny afternoons spent street-side, decorating their mouths and cheeks with some of Austin’s finest BBQ sauce. In the process, they were faced with a few interesting questions that Connor hinted at in his “Best/Worst of SXSW” post: What has SXSW become and is it really worth it for indie bands to attend?

The video delivers some interesting answers from interviews conducted with musicians, record label execs, Austin locals, and even some opinions from both Connor and myself (delivered prior to Killer Tofu‘s kickoff). SXSW evolved while the the record industry de-evolved, although I think it’s always worth going… even if it’s just to hear some good music and take in some Vitamin D.
