Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing teaming up for the betterment of lo-fi loveliness everywhere? Thank you sir, may I have another!? Our favorite jangly guitar rockers from Brooklyn, Beach Fossils, are preparing to release a new EP next week via Captured Tracks called What A Pleasure. Hopefully this release won’t get lost in the post-Radiohead King of Limbs shuffle, because it’s a great collection of songs including a stellar collab with Wild Nothing’s Jack Tatum:
[MP3] Beach Fossils – Out In the Way (feat. Jack Tatum)
Dustin Payseur and Tatum sound good together, combining clean guitar riffs with hazy keys prevalent throughout Wild Nothing’s debut LP Gemini. It’s a different sound for both artists involved, especially Beach Fossils who have grown from a one-man project of Payseur into a cohesive unit where songwriting duties are now shared with bassist John Peña. I really love their dynamics and am hoping this inspires an awesome new side project, Wild Fossils anyone?
What A Pleasure releases next Tuesday, get your preorder on.
