[Video] Walk The Moon: “Anna Sun”

I love holiday break if, for nothing else, to go home and see old friends while spending an inordinate amount of time sitting on my parent’s couch. Tomorrow I’m going to check out an indie pop outfit from my ole’ stomping grounds of Cincinnati called Walk The Moon. My sister swears up-and-down by their live show but she’s also a sucker for catchy pop/rock, something Walk The Moon are quite good at delivering. I haven’t listened to a lot of their music but did see the new video for single “Anna Sun”, and it screams independent enthusiasm. Filmed in a (huge) multi-level, historic building in downtown Cincinnati, Walk The Moon didn’t rely on lavish production budgets to make an enjoyable video – they relied on an abundant renewable resource: their friends. While the tune is a little too chorus reliant (not a bad thing since it’s very catchy), the video contains impromptu dance parties, eccentric scenes, a choreographed dance skit, and face-paint heavy, Where The Wild Things Are-esque battle scene. A good dosage of fun for a Friday!
