[MP3] Narwhal: “Galapagos”

narwhal [MP3] Narwhal: Galapagos

Spain is no stranger to producing successful indie acts, with El Guincho and Delorean being two of the year’s most prominent. Joining El Guincho and his Barcelona-bred appreciation for bubbly, effervescent electro-pop is Narwhal, a microcosm of a band about which almost nothing exists on the ‘net. It’s a good thing they reached out because a lot of promising music would have gone unheard if they hadn’t. Case in point:

[MP3] NarwhalGalapagos

A little space gem/jam, awash in beach foam and twinkling with an intriguing otherworldliness. The soundtrack to the journey of a parasailer whose supersonic seacraft launches her into outerspace. The track grows as she soars, and eclipses as she turns to bid her distancing planet farewell. Sunlight peeks over the horizon, blurred by the atmosphere, to watch this young woman fly. Up and up, away and away she goes.

“Galapagos” is the first track off of Narwhal’s rather excellent debut EP Visions Wide. Great title. Listen here »
