[Stream] new Animal Collective: “Screens”

In case y’all didn’t hear, the soundtrack to Animal Collective’s loved and hated film project with Danny Perez leaked the other night. Some scrounging mofos (via via) found one listenable track (of about five) on Soundcloud… and if you want to hear Noah Lennox doing his best Elliott Smith impression, you best take a listen:

I honestly didn’t think we’d ever hear something like this from the Animal Collective bunch. It’s an odd track (but a good one) that sees them simultaneously striking an oft-missed Sung Tongs chord while stepping the closest to losing their weird they’ve even gone. But “new territory” was the point of this ODDSAC exercise– you can bet Panda Bear’s upcoming Tomboy won’t sound a whisper like “Screens.”
