Welcome to the new and improved I Guess I’m Floating! The site you see now has been about three months in the making and is the culmination of pretty much everything we’ve ever wanted IGIF to be (not the least of which includes getting the hell off of Blogger). A huge, massive thank you to the guys at rtCamp who did the coding and basically turned our design into something real.
Most of the changes are fairly self-explanatory, so please poke around, interact with everything and anything you want to, and let us know what you think in the comments! Keep in mind this is still a work in progress, there’s still more to come in the next few weeks.
Also, thanks to the kindness of one very generous twitter user, @IGIF is now our official twitter account. You can still follow @igifconnor and @Nathaniel_IGIF but make sure to hit up @IGIF… and tell your friends!
Don’t forget to update your bookmarks and blogrolls!
Much love,
Connor & Nathaniel

in the words of Lil Jon: “awww skeet skeet! got damn!”
This looks terrible. Aside from the fact that you’ve pilfered the graphic styles of at least 3 other much better sites in a super inelegant manner, this thing loads slower than a turtle.
I’m sorry it doesn’t mesh with your tastes Jane. We can’t please everyone. I have to say it bums me out to hear you think we’re copping styles when I’ve been working on this design for three months. I guess I didn’t realize woodgrain was copyrighted by stereogum or gvsb.
As for the site speed, it’s slow because of all the redirects our server is handling at the moment. It’ll speed up once the transition smooths.
NICE!
Love the new look. I’m jealous. Loads plenty fast for me. Good work!
The woodgrain is just the embarrassing cherry on top, really. You would have been wise to spend an additional 3 months minimum figuring out how to deliver something conceptually original, and another 4 in therapy acknowledging that you’ve convinced yourself this is a design you wholly conceived.
we’re not going to abandon a design we’ve been working on for three months just because someone puts out a site one month ago that uses woodgrain and dropshadows.
but you don’t care. we spend a huge amount of time and money and energy working on something that we genuinely care about and you come out of nowhere and in a few misguided words crap on all of that — anonymously.
thanks for the kind words, Jane.
fantastic!
Hi Connor,
This is Rahul from rtCamp. We had chat during your migration.
Just want to thank you for taking a note of our work. :-)
you guys did a really fantastic job, thanks for all your help!
We only did something which we were doing from years.
What makes this new theme beautiful is awesome design by you. :-)
I can’t tell if I like this or the more straight-forward blogger version more. The music player’s definitely a very cool addition, though. I never liked Stereogum’s redesign, as the updates seemed to get lost in a bunch of side stuff, but hopefully you guys have avoided that (first impression: you have).
Hopefully it’s just me having a kneejerk reaction to the change and I’ll truly get to love it once I get used to it.
But the best part is that it shows you guys are successful enough to warrant a big change like this, so congrats!
LOOKS AWESOME!!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!!
fresh
I’m jealous. The site looks really great guys. Keep up the good work.
Very Nice, Quite the improvement… (I wouldn’t worry about those Naysayers…the one in particular)…Yes totally better off Booger.
this is great. i love how clean it is. way better than stereogum which essentially made me quit reading it with their crappy spread. yeah, similar to gvb, but whatever. you guys have always been original and honest in the way you present music and yourselves. i give it a huge thumbs up.
GUYS DIS IS AWESEOM!!!
Actually, after looking around a bit, the site is running dreadfully slow for me :(. It was super slow while the videos/pictures were loading in, but now it stills seems “glitchy”. AND CHROME IS S’POSED 2 B F@ST!
Hey, guys
It’s not a bad design but somehow I still prefer the old blogger styled website, I stopped going to stereogum as much once they put out their newest just because it was too cluttered. Your background shouldn’t be all that hard to change, the wood is a bit too common, so maybe change that.
I’ll continue visiting IGIF simply because of the quality of your posts, but think about doing a few more adjustments to the design soon; anyway, I don’t want to leave this on a negative note, I’m glad you’ve left blogger and I hope your website and it’s design continues to evolve :)
