[MP3] The Morning Benders – I Wanna Be Like You

The Morning Benders have a solid covers reputation dating back to their pre-Big Echo breakthrough. Aside from releasing a great collection of covers aptly named The Bedroom Covers to their fans a few years back, they also paid homage to a Disney classic! There aren’t many bands that can successfully pull off singing “I Wanna Be Like You” without ruining King Louie’s appeal.. damn, if The Morning Benders didn’t just do it!

[MP3] The Format – Do You Believe In Magic?

I’ve stopped worrying/wondering if The Format are ever going to get back together. Lead singer Nate is off having fun with his power-pop band Fun while making music that’s not nearly as inspiring as his former project. Multi-instrumentalist and music mastermind Sam hasn’t done much lately aside from providing a last-minute soundtrack for an indie film (and it sounded great). Until then we can reminisce on pop days of past by enjoying short covers like “Do You Believe in Magic?”

[MP3] Levek – Remade Horizon

This is a cover Connor spontaneously shared a few days back with a brand new track from Levek. It’s such a fantastic remake of Dirty Projector’s “Remade Horizon” it definitely deserves to be showcased alongside some other gems on a Thursday afternoon. Levek crafts marvelous melodies, has lovely lo-fi appeal, and an extremely bright future ahead of him.
