[MP3] new Here We Go Magic: "Collector"

SC207 600 [MP3] new Here We Go Magic: "Collector"

If you had the pleasure of seeing Here We Go Magic on tour last year (whether at SXSW or as Grizzly Bear’s opener) there’s a good chance you’ll recognize their latest single and the first officially released track from the upcoming Pigeons LP. There’s just something strangely memorable about the track’s oddball lyric — “I’ve got a mild fascination…” — Check it out:

[MP3] Here We Go MagicCollector (via We All Want…)

I’ve heard from a few friends that, not surprisingly, they aren’t very taken by this track (despite the psychedelic noodling). You may have been hoping for another “Tunnelvision” or “Fangela” and while Luke Temple’s solo act has expanded fivefold and likewise the sound has expanded with a much more diverse palette (for example, “Collector”) that’s not to suggest Pigeons won’t have its share of gorgeously blurry, ear-melting, heavenly stuff. Those tonal qualities are Luke Temple’s lifeblood and the addition of a band won’t undermine that ambition. At least that’s my forecast, for what it’s worth.

i agree that he hasn't lost his touch when it comes to the same sort of music found on tunnelvision but i also think collector is a great song

"ahab" and "everything's big" are the best songs on the record.
