[Video] The Last Shadow Puppets

This morning Pitchfork News had an article about Arctic Monkey’s frontman Alex Turner‘s new side project, The Last Shadow Puppets. Little is known about the album, The Age of the Understatement, except that it’s produced by Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford, its strings orchestrated by Arcade Fire violinist and Final Fantasy showman Owen Pallett, and that it will released by Domino on April 21st in the UK and May 6th in the US.

In checking Google and other relevant sources for more info, I found this preview video on YouTube, which is slightly terrifying and endlessly irking at the same time. Check it out:

If only the sound quality were better. Still, the strings sound like something to keep an ear out for. I can’t hardly imagine what Arctic Monkeys and Final Fantasy, with a touch of Simian Mobile Disco, would sound like… so I’m more than anticipating this one.

I’m in the good, good, good giving mode right now, so how about a couple of rare tracks from the aforementioned artísts.

[MP3] Arctic MonkeysDaframezr (from Matador CDS)
[MP3] Final FantasyThe Miner Becomes Forgetful (from Stigmata EP)

i like the acoustic version of it better. like AM for being kind of raw energy and the over production…well lets just say i hope the whole album isnt overproduced!
