The Good Life – AOTY Acoustic Demos

Here’s another lazy-ish post (the result of a delicious hangover). This time, I present you with acoustic demos of The Good Life‘s Album Of The Year. It actually sounds more like solely the work of TGL and Cursive frontman Tim Kasher rather than the whole band, but it’s something to check out nonetheless, if you’re a fan or not. Think of these as stripped down demos over anything else. I don’t have much info about the recording of them, but I imagine it was sometime around 2004 when the actual album came out. Without further ado:

[MP3] 01. The Good LifeAlbum Of The Year (April)
[MP3] 02. The Good LifeNight And Day (May)
[MP3] 03. The Good LifeUnder A Honeymoon (June)
[MP3] 04. The Good LifeYou’re No Fool (July)
[MP3] 05. The Good LifeNotes In His Pocket (August)
[MP3] 06. The Good LifeYou’re Not You (September)
[MP3] 07. The Good LifeOctober Leaves (October)
[MP3] 08. The Good LifeLovers Need Lawyers (November)
[MP3] 09. The Good LifeInmates (December)
[MP3] 10. The Good LifeNeedy (January)
[MP3] 11. The Good LifeA New Friend (February)

I know there is a bit of skipping on “October Leaves” but that’s the only problem I’m aware of. Enjoy! Check back later for more updates!

This actually came out on a bonus disc for those who purchased AOTY in the first month or so (or preordered? I forget!).

sweet diggity dog – awesome post! keep up the fantastic work!

yeah, it is just Tim Kasher playing the songs on his own, and it was a bonus disc along with Album Of The Year. I (stupidly) bought the ordinary edition of the album so I never got these tracks, so ta!

A friend of mine mentioned these guys in passing one day. The combination of that comment and blindly stumbling upon your blog lead me to listen to The Good Life for the first time. Wow. Wow. Wow. Thanks for posting. These are fantastic.

By the way, they said they’re going back into the studio (after nearly breaking up late 2005) and making a new album set to be released in 2007. Of course this is after the new Cursive album in August and I’m sure a lot of touring. That Tim Kasher is a busy man.
