In less than 24 hours, The Pine Club will be no more.
I’m sure many of you aren’t too terribly familiar with the Kentucky (woo!) based band, but the three piece from Louisville sent me an e-mail letting me know they’re officially breaking up. Straight from the band:
“As of the end of February we will no longer be a band. Long story short, we were a Louisville, KY based band that had some regional success with touring behind our previous album release. Due to band members moving, etc, we have decided to call it quits.“
News of a band breaking up is always something that leaves bitter tastes in people’s mouths, however unlike many other artist The Pine Club have given us all a pretty delicious chaser to the bitter shot of breaking up. A month before the news of their end, they managed to record a brand new CD, Last Frame, that is up for download on their site. The best part: it’s FREE!
Their final show is tomorrow night at The Rudyard Kipling, so any of my fellow Kentuckians nearby the L’Ville area should really try to catch their final act, I’m sure it’ll be worth it. To hear some older tracks, check out another KY Blogger, Dodge’s post. Check out their site for the rest of the album.
