It’s about that time folks, for another iGIF contest-a-roo. Here’s the deal:
The Prodigy – Their Law: The Singles 1990 – 2005
Limited edition 2 CD set containing all their hit singles including the bonus track ‘Out Of Space’ (Audio Bully’s Remix), Their Law showcases the career to date of The Prodigy, via the tracks that changed the face of British music. Since their formation in 1990, The Prodigy have released four albums, numerous singles, been #1 in 27 countries simultaneously with their incomparable Fat Of The Land masterpiece, toured the world with their incendiary live shows, made groundbreaking videos, shaken things up musically and socially…and they’ve always done it in their own formidable way – as highlighted on Their Law (XL 2005) – via amazon
So there you have it, up for grabs is basically a double disc greatest hits album from The Prodigy (known for Breathe and Firestarter, among others). I was at the height of my musical prepubescence when they were at the height of their popularity, but I still remember those videos and songs. Not necessarily indie per-se, but it’s free so don’t complain. On to the rules!
I’ll make this one easy on both me and you all (and beneficial for me this time too)…since listening to the two aforementioned songs has made me nostalgic for the hits of the early/mid nineties, I’d like to re-discover more. The problem is, I’ve forgotten a lot of the bands and singles of that time (think one hit wonders, mostly, but good songs nonetheless). So, all you have to do is leave the name of a band and one of their hits from that era in the comments…the one that makes me go “omgwtfroflmaoYES!” the most wins! Think alt rock, mostly mainstream stuff cuz that’s what I listened to back then as a blossoming music fan. For example, The Gin Blossoms‘ Hey Jealousy (1992) would be a perfectly good submission.
