Fellow iGIF readers, meet my favorite album of the week: Ian Love‘s Self-Titled debut. The album, which is set to officially hit stores February 20th, is backed essentially by acoustic guitar, vocal work, and drumming (and some piano), all done exclusively by Love himself, sheltered away in his Brooklyn apartment. Love’s music reminds me most of Wilco, but perhaps also recalls Damien Rice‘s lyrical persuasion and Elliott Smith‘s layered vocals. In any comparisson, Love’s music is beautiful, ethereal (to use the word twice in one day), and relaxing. Take a listen, all highly recommended!:
There’s one more track up on Love’s myspace page.
