So, it is probably a known fact that Birdmonster has been the “town whore” of the blogging community. But from my knowledge, nothing but good things can come from prostitution, right kids? For a minute fee, I was one of the latest victims of the slut that goes by the kinky name: Birdmonster.
All joking aside, the only thing whores and Birdmonster have in common are amazing sensory pleasures for little cost.

Birdmonster isn’t just some crazy demon from the latest Buffy the Vampire Slayer graphic novel, they are a legitimate and amazing band from the San Francisco area. When I asked for a brief history of the band from bassist Justin Tenuto, he, in 7 minutes (while at work I might add), produced this hilarious history of the band.
They recently announced their plans to record their first LP, which should have just about everyone in our community salivating like a pack of rabid dogs. I recently had the opportunity to have a little chat with Zach Winter, the respective drummer of the band, who has said they are booked and L.A. bound by the end of next week. They are planning to be crammed in a tiny room with tons of musical equipment AKA recording between January 11-28. I can barely fathom the amount of good music these guys could produce in that time frame, let alone the quality of each track.
The future of Birdmonster is looking incredibly bright, in fact it’s looking to be something like the sun. If you stare at it long enough, you’re going to burn your retinas and go blind. I would bet these guys get picked up rather quickly, and from what I hear about their live shows (reports of stealing the show from headliners such as The National and CYHSY), we can only hope they make a nice journey to a city near you. They have announced some dates over at their official site as well as their MySpace. I know GvB loves them as much as I do, and plans to showcase them soon. Who knows, you just might see them at SXSW? If you haven’t heard them yet, give their three-track EP a listen and count down the days until their LP…Like the rest of us.
Birdmonster – All The Holes In The Wall (Amazing Track!)
Birdmonster – Resurrection Song
Birdmonster – Janine
Birdmonster – Live in Fort Oregon, CA – Movie (As Zach so avidly put it, “There are some good parts. There are some shit bird parts.” Look for some of these songs on their LP..?)
“Our main goal is to rock so hard one of us faints”
–David, guitarist for Birdmonster
