Jeremy Enigk New Solo Album/Rare Tracks

Jeremy Enigk, former lead singer of the godfather emo band Sunny Day Real Estate, commented recently on his current band, The Fire Theft, and what his current agenda contains.

Jeremy Enigk New Solo Album/Rare Tracks

“Currently The Fire Theft is taking a break while I work on my next solo album. I started officially recording it in October and hope to put it out on my own record label early 2006. As soon as I finish and do a little touring, I imagine The Fire Theft will be back in full swing.”

To those that can remember, he also did the same thing to Sunny Day by leaving them to record his debut solo album Return of the Frog Queen. Since then he has composed the score as well as providing a couple of songs for the movie United States of Leland, and has started his latest/current band The Fire Theft. A few pals of mine in Seattle, where Enigk resides/records, have said he is almost finished with his album save for a few tracks. Look for a release around Feb/Mar with subsequent Spring touring.

These next two tracks were written for the Leland movie mentioned above. No soundtrack was officially released, so these two tracks can be a nuisance to locate:

Jeremy Enigk has been one of my musical heroes for many years now…

Thanks for this great post, and for the Leland stuff (which i’ve had massive problems finding online until tonight!)

Cheers,
Chad
